2018 Coach of the Month - Gazelle
Bob started coaching at PASS FC in 2007 for the high school girls. He has since become our “specialist” for the u13-u16 girls select teams. His prior experience as a coach started in the 1980’s but left the sport when his kids were young until he joined PASS in 2007. He has also recently become the girls JV coach at Northview High School.
Bob’s experience with soccer started as a player in the 70’s in middle and high school where he played and captained his team at Union High School. He also played for club teams and in leagues around Grand Rapids for several years after graduation. At that time the “club” soccer league in Grand Rapids was known as the “Burger King” league. As a high school student, Bob actively worked on the initiative with the GRPS school board to recognize and bring soccer into all city high schools as a Varsity sport. The effort was successful the year AFTER he graduated from Union.
Bob is married and has an adult son and daughter and has always lived in Grand Rapids. He loves coaching and looks forward to staying involved and working with players in the PASS program for many years to come.

Kyle comes to PASS with a wealth of experience and we are very excited for what he will bring to the dimensions of our coaching staff. Kyle started coaching club soccer 13 years ago and played soccer at Calvin College where he earned a bachelor's degree. This experience along with his C license should be a great fit with one of the best coaching staff's in Grand Rapids. Kyle is quoted: "I love creative and crafty players that are bold and allow their personality to show through in their game. Helping players grow and achieve a high level of comfort and determination under pressure is one of my main focus' in coaching. I am beyond excited to be joining the PASS FC organization and begin working with their players."
I have been playing and or coaching soccer for over 45 years. I played high school soccer at Grand Rapids Christian where we won several league championships. I then played at Calvin College. I began coaching as a sophomore at Calvin and started the first recreational program in Rockford for U13 boys and girls. My coaching experience spans from U10 all the way through high school varsity boys.
Growing up, my favorite player was Pele. My favorite club is the Barnet Bees, a north London club. I am an avid student of soccer and am constantly looking for inventive ways to teach young players how to play and love the beautiful game.
