He has coached in the Midwest Regional League, Michigan Premier League and in GVSA. He is currently the girls Varsity coach at Northview High School and has twice been named District Coach of the year by his peers. Mark holds a USSF National Youth License, NSCAA National Diploma, State D license and Coerver Coaching Certification. He is the President and co‐founding member of the PASS FC soccer club (2001) and oversees the PASS Youth Development Academy.

NSCAA Notre Dame Coaching CertificateGlenn has been a soccer coach in West Michigan since 1991 and has coached all levels of boys and girls’ soccer, from YMCA to State cup contenders. Glenn helped establish and coach for the first Premier club in Grand Rapids (Grand Valley Premier) until joining the PASS Soccer Club in 2007 to help PASS develop its Premier level soccer program. He is the club Director of Coaching, overseeing the coaching curriculum and placement of the PASS FC coaching staff. Glenn is an excellent technical trainer and is very passionate about player development. His focus is on repetition of technical aspects, and developing confident, skilled players. He has had a hand in helping to develop many of the talented young players in the Grand Rapids area. Glenn continues to play, and attends yearly clinics to continue to learn the game.

TJ started coaching soccer at PASS in 2009 as a PASS Juniors coach. Since then he has had extensive experience working with players at all levels of development in numerous camps, and on club and high school teams. His playing experience ranges from being a 2nd-team All-American Northview HS athlete, to playing 4 years at the University of Michigan, as well as playing semi-professional soccer at Detroit City FC and GRFC. “The most rewarding part of being a coach is being able to pass on things I’ve learned about soccer, teamwork, and competition. It brings me joy to see the youth of our community problem-solve in creative ways, on and off the field.” -

Marlon was adopted from Guatemala and grew up in Caledonia. Marlon started playing soccer at the age of 5. He played for clubs AYSO, CATS, and Crew Jrs (Premier and MRL levels). He made the 1995 Boys Michigan ODP team in 2012, played 4 years of varsity soccer, won 2 state Championships, and earned state runner-ups. Marlon was named to the Michigan High School soccer boys’ dream team his senior year and played 4 years of soccer at Aquinas College. Marlon has been coaching for PASS since 2020. Marlon shares a lot of experience and knowledge of the game to each of his teams. He coaches with a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and encourages the best efforts out of his players. Marlon currently has his national D coaching license and is working on C license this spring.on goes here -

Edis is the co-founder and Head Coach of PASS FC PRO (UPSL Semi-Pro) and the assistant coach for Grand Rapids Community College Women's Soccer.
Edis has played soccer since he was 4 years old, developing as a player at all level with professional experiences in Sweden, Finland, Costa Rica and Montenegro. Christian played for PASS FC starting at 8 years old and began coaching with the club in 2018. He is an alumnus of West Catholic High School, where he developed into one of the area’s top athletes, earning All-Conference and All-District honors all four years and being recognized among the school’s Top 10 Athletes. Christian continued his soccer career at Cornerstone University, where he was a five-year starter. He overcame significant adversity, including a medical leave in 2020, to return stronger than ever. In 2021, he led the team in goals, assists, and points, earning Second Team All-WHAC honors and being named a WHAC Champion of Character. In his final season, he again earned Second Team All-WHAC, NAIA Scholar-Athlete, WHAC All-Academic, and CSC Academic All-District honors, finishing second on the team with nine goals and 21 points. In addition to his collegiate success, Christian played semi-professionally in West Michigan, further honing his skills and deepening his understanding of the game. He is passionate about developing young athletes both on and off the field.

2018 Coach of the Month - GazelleBob started coaching at PASS FC in 2007 for the high school girls and is currently the Varsity Girls coach at Comstock Park. Bob’s experience with soccer started as a player in the 70’s in middle and high school where he played and captained his team at Union High School. As a high school student, Bob actively worked on the initiative with the GRPS school board to succesfully recognize and bring soccer into all city high schools as a Varsity sport. Bob loves coaching and looks forward to staying involved and working with players in the PASS program for many years to come.

Coach Adam Dickerson

Adam has been coaching with PASS since 2021 in addition to his role as assistant coach for Northview HS girls varsity soccer. Originally from Waterford, MI, he grew up playing club soccer for the Warriors and earned All-State Honors in high school. He has now been living in West Michigan for over 10 years and has become involved in the local soccer community; coaching and playing both competitively and recreationally. Adam enjoys developing our teams' technical skills and tactical knowledge of the game while also instilling life lessons of teamwork and commitment. Adam is an avid Liverpool FC supporter and a student of the game.

Coach Jared Farnsworth

Jared Farnsworth played for PASS since he was 7 years old and went on to play at Grace Christian University. During his time at Grace, he was a 3 time scholar-athlete, 2 time All-American (2nd Team), and earned the most prestigious award the NCCAA offers in 2022, the Kyle Rote Jr. Award, recognizing his work ethic and attitude on and off the field.
Jared started coaching at PASS in 2020, during his time playing at Grace. He graduated in 2023 with a Learning Disabilities Major and Math Minor. Jared’s love and understanding of the beautiful game and his desire to help kids develop into the soccer players they want to become, make him a great fit in our PASS team of coaches.

Coach Kailey "KJ" Rutka

A Grand Rapids native, Kailey “KJ” Rutka has been coaching soccer for 6 years in the West Michigan area for Juniors, Recreational, and GVSA programs. She currently holds her grassroots coaching license and will be working to achieve her USSF D license. She grew up playing soccer in the West Michigan area at the premier and MRL levels, and also playing for Calvin University for 4 years, earning All Conference, MIAA Defensive Player of the week, and NSCAA Division III All-North Central Region scholar-athlete accolades. KJ lives in Northview with her husband and dog.

William is from the southeast side of Michigan and ended up in Grand Rapids after graduating from Calvin University where he played soccer for 2 years. While playing club and highschool he won district, regional, and state championships. He also has some experience with ODP. William was fortunate enough to learn from fantastic coaches who inspired him to motivate and instruct the next generation of soccer players as well as they did and PASS is the perfect place to do that.

Alex Venlet started coaching at PASS in 2022 and quickly moved into the head coaching role with his energetic and positive teaching style. He grew up in the Holland area and played club soccer there since he was 8 years old. He carries accolades of All State, All District, and All Conference from his playing experiences at Holland Christian. Alex has earned his USSF Grassroots licensing and will be working to achieve his USSF D license this year.

Originally from Akron, Ohio, Patrick began playing soccer in 1972 in city leagues. His interest sparked after learning his grandfather was goalkeeper for Weiden, Germany. Patrick transitioned from soccer to football as a punter/kicker at Walsh Jesuit High School and secured a roster spot as a walk-on punter/kicker at NCAA Division I Ohio University. As a parent, he coached his two daughters through seven seasons with the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids soccer program. Now a third generation thrives with PASS FC.

Coach Bryan Lake

Bryan joined PASS FC in 2020 and has been a part of the 2010G NLC coaching staff since. He is also an Assistant Coach with PASS FC PRO (UWS) and the Varsity Boys & Girls Soccer Head Coach at Forest Hills Eastern High School. Bryan learned to play soccer at 4. He was an all-district, all-state goalie with Forest Hills Central and played club soccer at WMU. Bryan holds a USSF D license and is working towards his USSF C.

Coach Gavin Schutten

Gavin joined PASS FC in 2023 after having previously coached with SCOR. His favorite soccer memory is watching his daughter’s PASS team win the State Cup championship game in 2024.
Born and raised in Grand Rapids, he joined the Marine Corps after high school and traveled around the world before marrying the love of his life and moving back home to start a family. He has six kids, four of whom are current PASS players, with the other two soon to join. He loves coaching kids to be the best version of themselves while learning intangibles such as teamwork, dedication, perseverance, and discipline.
