id sessions, tryouts, & Enrollment

ID Sessions

Location: Northview High school grass fields (corner of Hunsberger and Rahn)

New players will have a chance to meet coaches and learn about the club. Current PASS players should plan to attend as well. Coaches may offer roster spots during ID sessions but no commitment forms may be signed until tryout day.

Multiple ID Sessions are scheduled so new players can make an educated decision on the environment around the team and club. Pre-Registration is encouraged so the coach can plan his/her training session according to the number of players attending.

Coaches may give parents and players information about next year's team and identify them as a player they hope to have on their team. They may not ask non-PASS players for enrollment to the team until the June tryout /enrollment day.

If a coach does not invite the player at or after the ID session, it DOES NOT mean they did not make the team. Many coaches will wait until the day of tryouts to place players on a team in the age group, often depending on the number of players at the tryouts.

It is important to attend these sessions so the coach can see how players abilities match up with the existing team. Check-in for ID Training Sessions at the Field Tent when there is one set up. Otherwise, ask one of the coaches for your group's field location.

team formation tryouts

Location: Northview High school (4451 Hunsberger NE)

Check-in behind the school near the gymnasium, and inside the Athletic Lobby entry doors. After check-in, parents should drop off their player at the field edge and watch from a distance. Players should arrive at the field dressed and ready to play. Bring/wear soccer gear (shorts, soccer cleats, shin guards under socks), water, and an inflated soccer ball with your child's name on it. Players should not interact with parents during the tryouts so that the coach and tryout is their main focus. Coaches will ask the player to find you if you are needed.

If your child will only be able to attend the day of tryouts, please be sure to register him/her with the Pre-Registration link above. Arrive 15 minutes early and check in inside Northview high school's Athletic Lobby at the back of the school. (4451 Hunsberger NE)

Players will be told at the tryout or in the days that follow if they have made the team. Depending on the age of the player, parents may be brought into a quick meeting with the coach to accept the position on the team. It is then expected that parents will enroll their player ON-SITE immediately following the tryout. See Enrollment information below.

Bubble Players: In some instances, players will be told they are “on the bubble” which means the coach likes them as a player but may not have a roster spot available at that time. Many times there can be movement within the age group rosters, and sometimes players who originally committed may not complete their registration/enrollment following the tryouts, opening up a roster spot. Parents may follow up a few days after the tryout to check on the status of the roster.

Forming multiple teams: If the number of players attending the tryout greatly exceeds the number of teams we have planned for, we may form an additional team if the league’s minimum roster requirement can be met, and we have a qualified licensed coach willing to take the team. These teams often continue to add players until the Fall season begins in late August.
